What is Lagree Fitness?

With an MBA from Seattle University and advanced certifications for both weight training and Pilates, Sebastien Lagree opened his 1st studio in September 2001. His program quickly gained popularity; especially amongst celebrities and top athletes. Since September 2001, Lagree Fitness™ is quickly expanding worldwide.

Lagree Fitness™ is the most innovative and aggressive approach to full body conditioning. Moving effectively out of the borders of conditioned stimulus, this workout integrates the key elements of resistance and counter-resistance in a sequence that allows for periods of zero gravity at peak muscle contraction. The composition of this method is significant in that it encourages maximum exertion while allowing for low risk of injury. The workout strengthens the body, tones and elongates the muscles, improves endurance, jump-starts the metabolism, burns fat, increases flexibility and postural alignment, and restores the body’s natural balance. The client, at conclusion, is left with a lithe and powerful body, resistant to the everyday stresses of work and life.

FAQs

  • Is this pilates?

Although at first glance there are similarities, the workout method is very different. The main difference is the Proformer and class structure provide intensity and cardiovascular elements that pilates cannot. With village[core]fitness you get the intensity of weight training plus the therapeutic benefits of pilates all in one 45-minute class.

  • Should my first class be a private lesson?

We do not require you to start with a private session due to the fact that classes are designed to work in a group setting. Our classes can accommodate all fitness levels and our certified trainers are excellent at adjusting exercises to meet your physical fitness needs. If you have chronic back pain, painful joints, or a severe medical condition, it is recommended to take a private session first so that your certified instructor can assess your fitness level. Classes at v[c]f are limited to ten students per class, an intimate workout experience offering personalized instructor attention.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know and we will take care of you.

  • How often should I take class?

The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you need to rest. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more, or less, time to recover. We recommend 3-4 times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. Listen to your body, it’s up to you!

  • Where do I park?

Due to the fact that we are located in the historic village of Granville, please give yourself ample time to find parking. It's always an option to park on a side street and start your warm-up with a walk or light jog on your way to class.
